At Spectrum Autism Services, we understand that recognising potential signs of autism in your child or young person can feel overwhelming. On occasions with children or young people who are adept at social masking, traits are not picked up in the school environment making it difficult for family’s concerns to be voiced.
Families often have questions, concerns, or uncertainties – and finding the right service early on can make all the difference. That’s why Spectrum offers a free screening service, designed to provide guidance and clarity with no obligation to proceed.
What is the Free Screening?
Our free screening service offers families an opportunity to share their observations and concerns about their child’s potential autistic traits. Whether it’s challenges with social interaction, communication differences, sensory sensitivities, or repetitive behaviours, we’re here to listen.

How Does It Work?
The process is simple, informative, and confidential:
Share Your Concerns:
Families are invited to complete a brief form where you can provide information about your child or young person’s behaviour, development, and any potentially autistic traits that may be of concern.
Clinical Review:
Once submitted, your information will be carefully reviewed by our Clinical Lead, Dr Sarah Lewis-Hayes, Child & Adolescent Educational Psychologist who is highly experienced in identifying neurodevelopmental differences.
Personalised Feedback:
Based on the information you provide, Spectrum will offer guidance on whether a full autism assessment would be appropriate. We may also suggest other options or services, depending on your child’s unique needs.
What Happens Next?
If it’s recommended that your child would benefit from a full assessment, we can provide information on next steps, what the process involves, and how to move forward with Spectrum if you should wish to do so,
We’ll always approach each family with honesty, empathy, and provide valuable advice.
